HURLEY MOTORCYCLES released a recall today for
more than 2 million tires. Over the past year, three styles of tires are
claimed
to be responsible for 28 accidents, six including fatalities. In most cases, motorcycles driven at high speeds crashed when a tire, usually in the rear, blew up. The cause has not yet been determined, but experts believe that the tires have a faulty outside layer which may come off under high velocity or high heat conditions. Unlike most companies, Hurley manufactures and produces the tires for all Hurley models. Officials announced that they will immediately replace all affected tires.
