37. Teenagers

1. Do you spend much time with teenagers?

Well, yes of course, especially because I'm one of them. My circle of friends consists of mostly adolescents as they are the age group that I interact most with, either at school or outside of school. Moreover, I'm a social butterfly and enjoy people's company, so I spend most of my freetime socialising with my teenage friends.

Vâng, tất nhiên là có, đặc biệt là vì tôi là một trong số họ. Vòng tròn bạn bè của tôi chủ yếu bao gồm thanh thiếu niên vì họ là nhóm tuổi mà tôi tương tác nhiều nhất, ở trường hoặc ngoài trường. Hơn nữa, tôi là người thích giao du và thích bầu bạn với mọi người, vì vậy tôi dành phần lớn thời gian rảnh rỗi để giao lưu với những người bạn tuổi teen của mình.

2. What do teenagers usually do in your country?

It really varies, but I can name some popular activities that most Vietnamese teenagers indulge in. The first one is quite obvious, hanging out with people of the same age rather than their parents. This is because they are seeking a sense of independence when entering adult life and thus, don't want too much parental involvement in their making of decisions. Another popular pastime of teenagers is surfing the Internet - which might be undesirable as this can distract them from their studies or lead to a breakdown in communications between juveniles and their parents.

Thực sự rất đa dạng, nhưng tôi có thể kể tên một số hoạt động phổ biến mà hầu hết thanh thiếu niên Việt Nam thích. Hoạt động đầu tiên khá rõ ràng, đó là đi chơi với những người cùng tuổi thay vì cha mẹ. Điều này là do họ đang tìm kiếm cảm giác độc lập khi bước vào cuộc sống trưởng thành và do đó, không muốn cha mẹ can thiệp quá nhiều vào việc đưa ra quyết định của mình. Một trò tiêu khiển phổ biến khác của thanh thiếu niên là lướt Internet - điều này có thể không mong muốn vì điều này có thể khiến họ mất tập trung vào việc học hoặc dẫn đến sự cố trong giao tiếp giữa trẻ vị thành niên và cha mẹ.

3. What is the best part of being a teenager?

The best thing about being a teenager is having the guts and the freedom to do whatever they want. Teenagers can be rebellious and disobedient, but people will only regard this as a normal phase that teenagers go through, whereas adults will constantly be told to ''act their age'' if they ever want to do something that seems a little childish.

3. Điều tuyệt vời nhất khi là thanh thiếu niên là gì?

Điều tuyệt vời nhất khi là một thiếu niên là có can đảm và tự do làm bất cứ điều gì mình muốn. Thanh thiếu niên có thể nổi loạn và không vâng lời, nhưng mọi người sẽ chỉ coi đây là giai đoạn bình thường mà thanh thiếu niên trải qua, trong khi người lớn sẽ liên tục được bảo rằng "hãy hành động theo độ tuổi của mình" nếu họ muốn làm điều gì đó có vẻ hơi trẻ con.

4. What is teenagers' fashion like?

I can't say for sure, as fashion trends are only temporary. However, I must say that although teenage fashion is diverse, it seems like adolescents usually dress to reflect their personalities and to express individuality. While adults have to follow certain dress codes according to their occupations, teenagers are at liberty to dress however they want, even if this means choosing to wear the most outrageous outfits.

4. Thời trang của thanh thiếu niên như thế nào?

Tôi không thể nói chắc chắn, vì xu hướng thời trang chỉ là tạm thời. Tuy nhiên, tôi phải nói rằng mặc dù thời trang của thanh thiếu niên rất đa dạng, nhưng có vẻ như thanh thiếu niên thường ăn mặc để phản ánh tính cách của mình và thể hiện cá tính. Trong khi người lớn phải tuân theo một số quy tắc ăn mặc nhất định theo nghề nghiệp của họ, thanh thiếu niên được tự do ăn mặc theo bất kỳ cách nào họ muốn, ngay cả khi điều này có nghĩa là phải chọn mặc những bộ trang phục kỳ quặc nhất.

38. Apps

1. What apps do you often use?

Well, like anybody else, I use a popular social networking site namely Facebook on a regular basis in order to keep in touch with my relatives, my buddies and my co-workers as well. Most deadlines and assignments I receive every day are from Facebook.

2. Which do you prefer, an information app or a chat app?

Well, I have an affection for information apps. I do realize if I pay too much attention to chatting with my friends online, it can make me interrupt from my work. Instead, I mostly spend my time on gaining my knowledge via online newspapers.

Yes definitely. Thanks to developing an app on my own, I am able to earn a lot of money thanks to web visitors. These days, I have taken up a new habit that is writing blogs on WordPress to share a lot of knowledge I gain everyday for others.

4. Do you often use apps on mobile phones?

Not really. My phone’s battery has gone bad these days, so I tend to use my laptop because of its big screen and long lasting battery. Hopefully, I can buy a new mobile phone in the near future in order to download apps for use because I think using apps on mobile phones will save my valuable time.

5. What kinds of apps do you expect to have in the future? 

Well, I would like to set up an art app relating to artistic stuff. I’m a big fan of sharing my painting tips, so I think I would be useful for someone who loves art like me.
