1. What is your favourite festival?

I am really into some traditional festivals in Vietnam such as the Lunar New Year or Independence day or others which are on the tip of my tongue. These occasions remind me of the good old days and are great chances for family reunions. Unfortunately, there are only a few days like these each year.

2. How do you celebrate the festival?

My conventional way is to come back home and organize some activities or throw a party with my family members. But now sometimes I feel like I am swept into the maelstrom of a hectic life, so I usually take chances to travel and totally escape from the busy life.

3. What is the most popular Vietnamese festival?

I think the answer is Tet holiday, which marks the beginning of a new year. During this holiday, people have some days off work and gather with their relatives. There are so many customs still preserved these days. Children wear their new clothes and give their elders the traditional Tết greetings and receive a red envelope containing money from their elders. Families and friends come together to have a feast of traditional Vietnamese dishes, and share the happiness and joy of the New Year with one another

4. Do you like Western festivals?

Yes, definitely. I have learned English for years and therefore somehow know about western festivals such as Valentine days, Halloween days or even the Solar New Year. They are gaining popularity among the young and I think it is good because we are living in a global village. Therefore, knowing and celebrating some international festivals will help us globalize easier.

5. Where do people usually go during festivals?

They may pay visits to their relatives’ houses because on normal days, they are too occupied with work and have no time to meet them. Some take a trip to tourist attractions where many funny and entertaining activities are held. Others simply stay at home and sleep like a log to recharge their batteries, especially on some short festivals.
