F: Hi Vladimir, it’s
Sonia from work. We missed you today at the office. So next Monday we’re having
the meeting for the new office design. Mr Fowler asked everyone for ideas.
(6) So we must make
notes and then email them to Mr Fowler. On the day of the meeting
we’ll also give a short talk based on our notes in front of everyone. Our talk
shouldn’t be longer than 3 minutes (7) as the whole meeting should take
no more than 45 minutes.
That will give all of us some time to talk and then around 15 minutes for us to
decide on the best ideas.
(8) If you need help,
you can go online at www.officedes.com. That’s O-DOUBLE
F-I-C-E-D-E-S.com. It’s got great ideas for small offices. Oh, I almost forgot.
(9) Could you talk to Anna and let her know about this as I’m
already late for my tennis class.
Make sure you are ready by
Friday the first of October so that we’ll have the weekend to go over our ideas
(10) before Monday the 4th.

Good Morning, I’m going to tell
you what you need to know for next Friday’s trip to the Egyptian Museum. First
of all, remember that students pay less than adults, so instead of the usual 8 pounds you will only need to bring 5 pounds fifty; if your parents want to
go too, they will have to pay the full price.
You will go to the museum with
the history teacher but he’s ill so you can’t give him the money. The Maths teacher will collect it tomorrow
at the end of her lesson.
The Museum opens at half past nine, but we’ll have to leave school
and be at the bus station by quarter past eight because the journey there is
about 45 minutes. We won’t take
the train because it would take longer to get there.
The Museum has a café so you
don’t need to bring food or drink. Remember that you can take photos inside the
museum so don’t leave your cameras at
home.

Right everyone. Just some
information on The Arts Centre that is open from July to September. You will
leave at half past nine on the 17th and get there in about half an hour.
During the week you will spend there, you will have several activities to
choose from: students can do painting or drawing from 8 a.m. to midday, while
after lunch those who are interested can try dancing or photography. The courses are available for students aged
11 to 15, but remember your parents have to fill in a form where they agree to
let you do the courses.
During the week at the Arts
Centre you will also be able to take part in weekend activities: Unfortunately
we won’t be able to take you to the swimming pool as we did last year but we
will go on a trip to London and visit museums as well. The cost of the
week, which includes accommodation and meals, is 139 pounds, so please remember
to bring the money by Thursday.

Hello everybody. I’m going to
give you some information about tomorrow’s school boat race. All racers must be at the meeting point at
ten o’clock because the race will begin at half past ten. All you need to wear
is a pair of shorts. You shouldn’t wear sunglasses because you may lose them
during the race.
Remember that the race is only
for students aged 10 to 15. The swimming race for younger children will take
place on Friday.
There are different prizes for
each race. In the school boat race, for
those who win the first prize there is a new surfboard, and those who come second and third will get a book on sailing each. Don’t be sad if you don’t win, though: everybody who takes part in the race
will get a T-shirt as a souvenir. If you haven’t signed up,
now just tell me and I will add you to the list.

Good morning class. I’d like to
tell you about the music classes that the school is offering this summer. If
you’re interested in learning to play a musical instrument, you need to book
before the 4th July. All the classes will start on the 14th of July and last until the
28th July.
You can choose from several
musical instruments such as the drums, the guitar and the violin. Most lessons
are on weekdays but the guitar teacher can only teach students on Saturday.
As
the courses are all for beginners, you can borrow an instrument from the
school. You can collect them from Room 30 on the third floor from the first
week of July.
The course isn’t very
expensive: each of the ten lessons will cost £7, so £70 in total. However, if
you pay for the whole course at once, you get a 10% discount and will only pay 63 pounds.

Hello, everyone. I’m going to
tell you about this year’s photo competition: as you know, last year’s photos
were about travel; this year, however, students have to take pictures about nature. You can choose to take a photo
of animals or plants and send it to the school
office from July 23rd to the 28th. The competition will be on the last Tuesday of July.
The students who want to take
part in the competition must send two photos, but only one will be chosen. The
winners will receive an email message before the competition day. There will be three prizes: the
third prize is a cap; the second prize is a T-shirt and the winner of this
year’s competition will get a backpack.
Remember to tell your family
and friends that the photo exhibition will be on the fourth floor of the
school. Now, if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer all of them.

Welcome to Georgetown Sports
Camp. I’d like to give you some information: during your time at the camp you
will find fourteen different sports,
five indoor activities and nine outdoor sports. If you want to do
a sport, just write your name on the lists of the sports you would like to do.
Now, clothes. For most sports
you can just wear shorts and a T-shirt. As
we do both indoor and outdoor sports, make sure you have a pair of trainers
with you, too.
Lunch is served at the snack bar from quarter past twelve and quarter to two. You
will find sandwiches and drinks to buy there, but if you want salad or fruit, you need to go to the
little shop near the bus stop. Don’t eat too much or you won’t be able to run
and jump!
For each sport you do, you will
get a mark and each mark goes into your final score. If you get over 190 marks
in total, you will get a tennis racket. The
maximum score is 250 and those who get that score will win a surfboard.
I hope everything is clear.

Morning everyone. As you know,
you all have the possibility to join Mr Shelley’s piano lessons, starting from
next week. That’s S H E L L E Y. You can join the lessons if you have a piano
at home, but keyboards are OK too.
Lessons are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but on
Wednesday you already have the French
course with Mrs Dufour, so your day will definitely
be Tuesday.
Now, the price. A single lesson
for two students is £25 pounds an hour
or £15 for half an hour. I suggest you start with the one-hour lesson, then
once you know the basics you can do half an hour. You must go to Mr Shelley’s
house which is very close to Queen’s Square. The exact address is 105 Main
Street. Remember to call him first, his number is 0753 715380. Did you get it
right? I’ll stay it again: 0753 715380. The best time to call him is between
six and nine.
Is that clear to everyone?

Good morning boys and girls.
Let’s have a look at the hotel information for our trip to Edinburgh. When we
arrive in town, we’ll go straight to St Andrew Square, which is 5 minutes’ walk
from the railway station and very close to our hotel, the Dork, which is in George Street. Tell your parents that the price for a double room is 120 pounds a night, and a single room is 90 pounds a
night. So, if you’re sharing a room, the price is 60 pounds a night.
The hotel is very big, there
are 100 bedrooms, but we only need 20, possibly on the same floor.
It’s a very nice hotel with a
lot of facilities, such as a gym, a sauna and even a swimming pool, but we
won’t have time for any of those, we’ve got a very busy schedule!
So, did you get the address
right? It’s George Street, and the hotel is opposite the Post Office.

Woman: And now for some
information about an exciting fashion show here in the town this summer.
The show will be at the History Centre. I guess most of you
know where that is, but for those of you who don’t, it’s behind the town hall.
The show is in July… sorry,
I’ve got the wrong piece of paper here… I mean the show will be on the 1st of August and it’s called
‘Clothes for the Successful Student’. At the start of the show, you’ll
see some casual but smart shirts and
blouses, just right for those
university interviews, and then in the second half of the show, shoes that are fashionable and comfortable!
If you’re studying fashion,
tickets are only £6 instead of the normal price of £9. That’s good news for
fashion students!
The clothes in the fashion show
won’t be on sale that day, but you will be able to buy a catalogue of the show to take home with you! Right, now on
to…
